UoC Forum

Das hier vorgestellte Projekt ist Teil einer Reihe von Projekten, deren Ziel es ist, Managementfaktoren zu identifizieren, die Einfluss auf das medizinische Outcome haben. Diese werden im Rahmen des UoC Forums gefördert.
Die Forschung in der Medizin konzentriert sich bis heute primär darauf, Therapiealternativen abzuwägen um die größtmögliche Behandlungsqualität zu erzielen. Im Bereich der wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen und ökonomischen Forschung ist dagegen Hauptzielkriterium, durch Allokation von Ressourcen und Umstrukturierung von Systemen die Effizienz und letztendlich die Profitabilität zu erhöhen. Durch die Gründung unseres Forums kombinieren wir diese beiden Perspektiven der Forschungsbereiche und bilden eine interdisziplinäre Forschergruppe, die schwerpunktmäßig Zusammenhänge zwischen Charakteristika der Organisation und ihren Mitgliedern mit der Behandlungsqualität erforscht.
Um hierzu neue Erkenntnisse zu erlangen, kooperieren im Forum Forscher der medizinischen Fakultät [Prof. Roth (Neonatologie), Prof. Pfaff (Medizinsoziologie), Prof. Stock (IGKE) und Prof. Stippel (Chirurgie)] eng mit ihren Kollegen aus der Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaftlichen Fakultät [Prof. Thonemann (Supply Chain Management), Prof. Hank (ISS), Dr. Wiesen (ABWL & Personalwirtschaftslehre), Prof. Kuntz (ABWL & Management im Gesundheitswesen - Projektkoordinator). Das primäre Ziel der Forschergruppe ist es, Managementfaktoren zu identifizieren, durch die die Qualität der Behandlung von Patienten im Krankenhaus positiv beeinflusst werden kann. Dazu sind verschiedene Pilotprojekte gestartet worden, welche den interdisziplinären Gedanken sowohl durch ihre Forschungsfrage als auch durch die beteiligten Forscher umsetzen:

To date, research in the medical community has focused mainly on finding the right medical treatment in order to increase treatment outcomes. Researchers in the field of management science and economics, on the other hand, are interested predominantly in allocating resources and designing systems in order to increase efficiency and profitability. Our forum aims to combine medicine with management science and economics as two collateral points of view by forming a group that focuses on interdisciplinary research that is concerned with the relationship between system and member characteristics and design and treatment outcomes. Principal investigators of the forum from the medical faculty include Prof. Roth (Neonatology), Prof. Pfaff (Med. Sociology), Prof. Stock (IGKE) and Prof. Stippel (Surgery). The WiSo faculty will be represented by Prof. Thonemann (Supply Chain Management), Prof. Hank (ISS), Dr. Wiesen (Personnel Economics and HRM) and Prof. Kuntz (Business Administration and Health Care Management), the latter being the intended group coordinator. The primary objective of the forum is to identify managerial risk factors in medicine that positively influence treatment outcomes. We are therefore working to get distinct pilot projects off the ground, each reflecting the basic premise of interdisciplinary in both their research questions and the collaborating researchers in charge:
